Been on a short break from blogging with too many things happening on the personal side.

For starters, Fizzy‘s view from home aint this anymore

instead he gets to see the other doggies taking a walk 🙂 and ofcourse gets to bark at em to his mouthful. Its a bigger/better house though the pool view is gone – but with Jr set to stamp his foot this coming week, moving to this house was the sensible decision to take. Fizzy has already proof checked Jr’s crib and bath tub.

He has not yet tested the stroller though – it can wait he says.

So the wait of more than 9.5 months is done and its just a max of one week (cud be jus a couple of days too) to go – exciting times ahead, lots to blog about and hoping that i get to shed some kgs of my tummy looking after the kiddo LOL.

With some new found enthu to grow hair to match Remo/Dhoni etc my haircuts have been less off late – around 6 times for the past year or so in Singapore. And most of these visits have been an adventure. First time passed as a good one with a young guy doing a very good job on the hair cut. Satisfied with that I went to the same place second time around only to be faced by one old grandpa with no signs of the young guy who cut the first time. And my worse moment was yet to come. I told the grandpa to cut the hair to a minimum and to leave the hair at the back to a long distance and to jus trim it. He had ideas of his own and started cutting it and worse was he made it very very short and at the end had a statement to make ‘this only suits you’ — 😈
So having had that experience I decided to venture into a chinese territory with my head. Just after my office went in search of a good place nearby and found a stylish haircut salon. The guy inside looked like a wierdo – it was enuf warning signs which i didnt take and assumed him to be trendy and went in. I tol him that I need a haircut and sat down and he was cool enuf and started off with the job. After about 2-3 minutes of it, he started asking me in sign language on how long the hair should be cut, if am ok with this area etc – then only i realised that the guy didnt know english and only chinese 😦 well the rest of my haircut went on with me struggling to escape from there with a half decent hair and he trying his best to impress me with his work. That was when i decided to not go to a chinese place anymore, it was going to be only indian from now on.
so it was an indian shop in ‘little india’ the next time and well as always this was even worse than the rest. the guy was so drunk and was rude pushing my head to some random position as he feels and i felt like i was in thirupathi getting myself a free head shave. the trouble with such haircuts is that you cant even getup half way through. after all this i should have had the common sense and did the stuff on my own, but bein more of the adventorous kind, i went to the hair stylist lady in our vicinity. as it turned out she was also one chinese person and though it was not as bad as the previous times I was left wondering where I should have my next haircut.

And when yesterday was one of the days i decided to get it done again I was perplexed and scared at the same time of finding a good place to go. A long walk in the little india road showed me a couple of places and none of which impressed. Atlast one good looking place was there and I entered it – jus after entering i realised that all the people sitting outside the place was like above 50 or so and the people inside (only few too) were like quite old. For a moment I decided to walk out and run for my life err hair – then decided against it. I did a great thing by not running away coz the grandpa who cut my hair did a fabulous job. He infact found it so difficult to get rid of the imprints my prev haircut adventures from my head. Background la sivaji movie ‘Deiva Magan’ was runnin on the TV – how matching to the situation LOL. Kudos to you – Long live the grandpa at New Star Hairdressing Saloon opp the Mariamman temple, Lil India 😛

Sivaji – FIRST REVIEW ON NET!!

Jus back after watching Sivaji in Singapore FDFS at GV Yishun.

Awesome performance by Rajini. Looking younger by decades as though travelled by a time machine, Superstar looks ravishing and has given out a spell binding performance. In his Motta role, he even makes us forget the La ka la ka la ka…… He is an epitome of style and his walks and his mannerisms have been captured in a fan like style by Shankar. Shankar is a master in bringing out social issues through his script and packaging it in a commercial way. The message in the movie and the final slides on the screen as names roll by is something every Indian would dream for.

The songs picturisation has always been Shankar’s forte and he proves that again. Ballelakka has Nayantara looking soooo hot and the scenes are so pleasing to the eyes. Sahara and the glass tower looks ravishing and Shreya is SUPER DUPER HOT in Vaaji Vaaji song. Athiradee and Style song is every RAJINI fan’s dream come true. Wonderful use of CG in both the songs. Shankar or ARR has been so clever in using the Sega Fightaa song — Hats off

Rahman’s songs have already stuck on to the top of the charts and would sure stay on for some more time with the visuals out now. He has done a wonderful work with the BGM and esp Blaaze proves why he is Rahman’s favorite. The BGM music which resembles one of the songs is too good to hear.
Sujatha’s dialogues is another strength to the movie. Scene where Suman makes fun of Rajini is another gem by Sujatha. Magic with little words and its Sujatha for you.

Heroines in Rajini and Shankar movies have always been mostly for glamour. Here too Shreya fits the bill perfectly and does a fantastic job at that. In addition she does have some scenes to prove her acting and she does a good job. Vivek’s rockbottom career is going to be revived with this movie where he is there with Rajini in most of the scenes. Office Room comedy scenes and La Ka La Ka scenes STAND OUT!! still laughing thinking about them. …. He even has a couple of punch dialogues

Suman has been a revelation in terms of Villain. Speaking fewer words and with no over the board shouting, he has done a wonderful job and looks menacing. The confrontation scenes b/w Rajini and Suman are a highlight of the movie.

Style song and Adhiradee song graphics are top class (Both are fantasy songs and they sure have unrealistic sequences which is why you have CG in the first place) Other than that, not much of CG in the movie.

As for the minus points in the movie, there is one scene with Shreya and train which is kinda unbelievable. There are slides which are put as the names roll by and they ought to have been included before that coz some people may miss that.

In Singapore theatre we had atleast 20% of crowd as women and everyone enjoyed the movie thoroughly. Throughout the first half and almost half of second half (not sequentially) it was sprinkled with lots of humour ala Rajini Style. Sivaji — Pera ketta chumma Adhirudhilla……..
